IRISH SODA BREAD


IN MIXER, BEAT:
7 TABLESPOONS SOFT BUTTER
2 1/2C. FLOUR
1/2C. SUGAR
1/2T. BAKING POWDER
1/2TSP. BAKING SODA
3/4TSP. SALT

OPTIONAL-STIR IN 1/2C. RAISINS

ADD:
1 1/4C. BUTTERMILK
1 EGG
MIX UNTIL IT FORMS A DOUGH. SCRAPE INTO A GREASED DEEP DISH PIE PAN. BRUSH WITH 1 T. MELTED BUTTER AND BAKE 1 HOUR AND 15 MINUTES AT 350. COOL AND ENJOY!!!
